Biography
Coat's research concentrates on how support is understood in the formal and informal learning contexts of oral communication skills acquisition and development. In particular, she is interested in how teaching and learning emerge in the activities of communication centers whose mission is to enhance oral communication skills. Community involvement includes providing lectures, workshops and coaching in the management of communication apprehension and presentation best practices.
Research Interest
Visiting Assistant Professor AnnMarie Coat's area of interest is in pedagogy and interpersonal communication. Her work focuses on how supportive communication contributes to the creation of a context that facilitates communication skills development.
