Biography
Bachman’s screenplay, Out of Place , was a finalist in the American Cinema Foundation and Santa Fe national screenwriting competitions; his short script, "Family Programming," was a quarter finalist in the BlueCat Screenplay competition. His articles and reviews appear in The Journal of American Studies, Journal of Film and Video, Journal of Screenwriting, The Quarterly Review of Film and Video, Film History and Creative Screenwriting .He is co-editor of the book American Silent Film: Discovering Marginalized Voices . His most recent book chapter, “Crimes and Misdemeanors: Reflections on Reflexivity,” appears in The Companion to Woody Allen .Bachman has been recognized by his College for his excellence in teaching, advising and service. In 2017 he received the Louise Loy Hunter Outstanding Faculty Member award.
