Biography
Jung was selected as a fellow in two prestigious programs: Tanglewood and the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program. During the Tanglewood season, she performed with the internationally renowned Mark Morris Dance Group as a guest soloist as well as in acclaimed soprano Dawn Upshaw’s cabaret recital and had a lead role in Zuidam’s world premier opera. In the Merola Program, she sang the role of Lucia in “Rape of Lucretia” and appeared as a soloist with San Francisco Opera Orchestra in “The Grand Final Concert.”Jung has also performed with the Madison Opera, the Bel Canto Chorus, the Racine-Kenosha Symphony, and the Milwaukee Symphony.Her opera credits include Romilda in “Serse,” Fiordiligi in “Cosi Fan Tutte,” and Blanche in “Dialogue of Carmelites.” Jung has also been a soloist in oratorios such as Mozart’s “C Minor Mass” and Poulenc’s “Gloria.”
Research Interest
Hein Jung specializes in opera, oratorio and recital. She has performed throughout the U.S. as well as internationally in Seoul, South Korea; Montreal, Canada; and Pamplona, Spain.
