Biography
Mohamed H. Hamdan, MD, MBA, attended the American University of Beirut for both his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and his Doctor of Medicine degree. After a year of internship at the American University of Beirut and a year as a research fellow in cardiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he undertook internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa. He then completed his cardiology fellowship at Stanford University and a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of California-San Francisco. After completing his training, he served as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center before being recruited to be Associate Chief of Cardiology and Director of the Arrhythmia Service and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship program at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. Hamdan was a tenured professor and holder of the John and June B. Hartman Research Endowed Professorship at the University of Utah until July 2012, when he joined the University of Wisconsin as the Tuchman Chair of Cardiology and Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Hamdan currently holds the Mildred and Marv Conney Chair in Cardiology.
