Biography
David A. Bluemke, MD, PhD, MsB, joined the department in July 2017 as a visiting professor (CHS) in the Thoracic Imaging and Cardiovascular Imaging Sections. He comes to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he served as a professor of diagnostic radiology and medicine. Dr. Bluemke also held concurrent roles as radiologist-in-chief at the National Institutes of Health, tenured senior investigator at the NIH National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering and Clinical Center, and adjunct senior investigator at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. A native of Brookfield, WI, Dr. Bluemke completed his medical degree at the University of Chicago Medical School, Chicago, IL and completed his residency, fellowship, and master of science in business at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD.
