Biography
Dr. Berbee joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health after completing his emergency medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine. He started his career as an IBM systems engineer. After leaving IBM, he founded Berbee Information Networks Corporation, which he sold to the public company CDW 13 years later. Dr. Berbee is also the event founder of the Berbee Derby Thanksgiving Day 10k RUN & 5k RUN/WALK. The Berbee Derby proceeds support the Technology Education Foundation. He has served on the Board of Directors of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Foundation, the United Way of Dane County, and the Thompson Plumb Trust Company. He currently serves as a trustee for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), the Morgridge Institute for Research and WICell. He and his wife through the BerbeeWalsh Foundation, support human health and welfare projects. Dr. Berbee has strong interests in business and in aviation.
