Joshua C. Ross

Biography

Dr. Ross is the Clinical Vice Chair of the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health. He graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Medicine & Public Health, before completing his Pediatrics residency at Children's Memorial Hospital at Northwestern. After completing his Chief Residency year, he pursued fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He developed an area of expertise in medical simulation, and as such, he was recruited to the University of Wisconsin initially as Director of Medical Simulation for both Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. In this role, his academic and clinical interests intersected, receiving grant funding to better understand the utility and feasibility of interprofessional simulation training to improve the quality of patient care and educational outcomes of trainees. Dr. Ross grew his leadership role from medical simulation to medical director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine where he shepherded our Pediatric ED through two significant expansions over the past few years. He is one of the first pediatric emergency physicians to be recognized in Madison Magazine Top Doctors in 2016 and has received multiple departmental awards for excellence in clinical care and teaching. As an alumni of the UWMF Physician Leadership Development Program, Dr. Ross is focused on ensuring the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency continues to provide the highest quality of care for the patients and families we serve, as well as, cultivating a culture of excellence and professional satisfaction for our entire healthcare team.
