Michael Gofman

Biography

Professor Michael Gofman has earned his Ph.D. in finance and MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. Gofman also holds M.A. in economics and M.Sc. in finance from the Tel Aviv University. Gofman studies how intermediation in over-the-counter markets affects the efficiency of resource allocation, and what is the role of large interconnected financial institutions in over-the-counter markets. His primary research interests are in financial intermediation, corporate finance, financial and economic networks, and portfolio theory. Prior to his doctoral studies, Gofman worked as a quantitative analyst in the largest private bank in Israel. He is the winner of the Arnold Zellner Doctoral Prize and was the second runner-up for the Morgan Stanley Prize for Excellence in Financial Markets
