Biography
Dr. Susan Hupp graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2004 and obtained her M.D. from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2008. She completed her residency training and chief residency in Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital/The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Following her general pediatrics training, she completed fellowship training at Duke University. Dr. Hupp also completed a Masters in Clinical Research at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. After completing her training, she joined the faculty at UT Southwestern as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. Hupp practices in both the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. In 2016, she became a co-director of the pediatric critical care fellowship program at UT Southwestern. Her main interests are medical education and clinical research. Her medical education focus is in simulation education where she studies curriculum development and implementation, and simulation environment. She collaborates with the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) who focus on multi-center clinical research in pediatric critical care. Dr. Hupp is also involved in quality improvement projects designed to improve efficiency clinical practice.
