Biography
Dr. Aubrey Maze, M.D. is founding member of Valley Anesthesiology Consultants, Ltd and serves as its Chief Executive officer and Director. Dr. Maze is a practicing board-certified anesthesiologist and pediatrician in the Phoenix, Arizona area. He currently serves on the Anesthesia Committees and O.R. Committees at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. He served as President of the Medical Staff of Phoenix Children’s Hospital. At present, he is a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Arizona, Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, as well as the Academic Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology, Department of Child Health, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. He served as President of Stanford Anesthesia Alumni Association as well as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at Stanford University from 1976 to 1979. Dr. Maze served as President of the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, and served as Secretary of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research. He served as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology from 1982 to 2010. Dr. Maze also serves on the Board of the Ear Foundation of Arizona, the Board of Valley Anesthesiology Foundation, and was on the Board of Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix. He serves as Chairman of the Board at Preferred Physicians Medical Risk Retention Group, Inc. Dr. Maze has been Chairman and Director of PPM Information Solutions, Inc. since 1996. Dr. Maze's Residency/Fellowships include Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, CA from 1974 to 1976; Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center - Long Island, NY from 1972 to 1974; Groote Schuur Hospital/University of Cape Town - Cape Town since 1972. Dr. Maze's Certifications include American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Maze holds MB and Ch.B. from University of Cape Town Medical School, Cape Town in 1970.
