Biography
Candace Florence joined the Valparaiso University community as a Visiting Instructor in the Health Care Leadership program in 2015. She holds a Bachelors in Health & Safety with a concentration in Community Health Promotion, and a Master’s of Science in Public Health, both from Indiana State University. She will complete her Doctorate in Health Sciences in the fall of 2015. Her professional experiences range from heading a not-for-profit HIV/AIDS organization, to serving as an instructor for Health Sciences and Public Health courses at a state college. Her research interests include prescription drug abuse, sexual health, and health disparities, with a focus on college and minority populations. She enjoys presenting and lecturing on topics that bring about both awareness and progressive change.
