Biography

Professor Li joined the College of Nursing and Health Professions faculty in 2015. She teaches in both the undergraduate health care leadership and graduate nursing programs. Her past professional experience, prior to joining our faculty, included serving as the research coordinator at University of Nevada Reno College of Community Health Sciences, and the research fellow at University of Florida College of Medicine. Her general research interests are in epidemiology of chronic diseases, social and environmental determinants of health, health disparity, and health service and outcome research. Her dissertation research investigated health behaviors, quality of life, health disparity, and healthcare utilization in asthmatic children and adolescents from economically-disadvantaged families. Future research will examine the impact of environmental risk factors such as particulate matters, ozone and pollen on asthma outcomes. Professor Li has published on the relationship between asthma control, sleep problems, and quality of life in Sleep Medicine. She serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Quality of Life Research. She is a member of several professional organizations including International Society for Quality of life Research, American Public Health Association, and American College of Sports Medicine.
