Matthew John Shattock

Biography

Matthew John Shattock, also known as Matt, has been the Chief Executive Officer of Beam, Inc. since 2009 and serves as its Chairman of the Board. Mr. Shattock served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Beam Global Spirits & Wine Inc. since April 22, 2009 to 2011. He had been responsible for a portfolio of nearly 100 brands (including eight of the world’s top-100 premium spirits brands), more than a dozen global operating and commercial facilities and approximately 3,000 employees worldwide. Mr. Shattock has both U.S. and global business experience. He served as the President of Europe, Middle East and Africa Regions of Cadbury Ltd. since March 1, 2005 until 2007. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Cadbury Schweppes Americas Confectionery of Cadbury plc of Cadbury Limited until March 2005 and President from 2003 to March 2005. He served six years at Cadbury Plc. business units. He served the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cadbury Adams USA LLC. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Cadbury Schweppes Ltd. Mr. Shattock joined Cadbury in 2003 from Unilever Best Foods North America, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer since 2005. He served 17 years at Unilever, where he served a variety of roles across marketing and General Management at Bird's Eye Walls and Lipton. He served as a Tank Troop Commander in the British Army. Mr. Shattock served as the Vice Chairman of Kent Gida Maddeleri Sanayii ve Ticaret AS. He has been an Independent Director of Beam, Inc. since 2011 and V.F. Corporation since February 2013. He served as a Director at Cadbury Nigeria Plc since February 10, 2005. He is a veteran Leader in the Global Consumer Packaged Goods Industry. He has a BA with honors from Durham University (UK).
