Biography

Nicholas S. Cyprus, also known as Nick, served as the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller of General Motors Company from December 1, 2006 to July 15, 2013 and served as its Vice President from August 4, 2009 to July 15, 2013. Mr. Cyprus served as Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. from May 2004 to March 31, 2006. He served as Executive Officer of General Motors Company. He served as the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller of Motors Liquidation Company from December 1, 2006 to July 2009 and served as its Vice President. He served as a Vice President and Controller of AT&T Corp. since January 2003 and served as its Chief Accounting Officer from 1999 to May 2004, where he held several positions over 22 years. He joined AT&T in 1982. He also led AT&T's Sarbanes-Oxley implementation efforts, financial systems oversight and cost-reduction initiatives. He has significant experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and serves on the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's (PCAOB) Standing Advisory Group and Internal Working Group. He served as an Assistant Corporate Controller and Chief Accountant. He served nine years at&T Capital Corporation. Before joining AT&T Capital, he served as the Lead Technical Accounting Policy Manager for AT&T Information Systems. Mr. Cyprus served several years in the oil and gas industry and worked for Amerada Hess and SPG Energy. He served as a Senior Financial Analyst for Amerada Hess Corporation in New York, as a Senior Corporate Internal Auditor for Suburban Propane in New Jersey and as a Staff Auditor for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in New York. He began his accounting career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where he spent several years on diversified audit assignments. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. since May 2015. He has been a Director of MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. since July 2017. Mr. Cyprus serves as a Resource Group Member of the FASB's Revenue Recognition Project. He served as an Independent Director of DigitalGlobe, Inc. from June 25, 2009 to October 5, 2017. He served as Board Observer of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. since March 30, 2015. He has been recognized by the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants as the Outstanding Business Leader of the Year in 1999 and by the Institute of Management Accountants as the Financial Executive of the Year in 2000. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Cyprus holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
