Charles R. Kaye

Biography

Mr. Charles R. Kaye, also known as Chip, serves as a Co-Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Executive Management Group at Warburg Pincus LLC. Previously Mr. Kaye was a Co-President since 2002 at Warburg Pincus. Mr. Kaye joined Warburg Pincus in 1986 and has been responsible for the management of it since 2000. Mr. Kaye is responsible for Warburg Pincus's strategy, oversight of investment policy and decisions, leadership of executive management group and the coordination of limited partner communications. In 1994, Mr. Kaye established Warburg Pincus's Asian operations in Hong Kong. In 1999, he assumed management responsibility for Warburg Pincus's healthcare and life sciences investments. Mr. Kaye served as the Treasurer and a Director of The Global Alliance for TB Drug Development. He is also a Director of the United Nations Association of the United States of America. Mr. Kaye is a Co-Chairman of New York City Investment Fund Manager, Inc. He served the Co-Chairman of The Partnership Fund for New York City, Inc. and serves as its Director. He has been a Director of New York City Investment Fund Manager, Inc. since 2010. He also sits on the International Advisory Board of the Center for The Advanced Study of India (CASI) at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as the Chairman Emeritus of Asia Society. He served as the Chairman of the United States-India Business Council and the Chairman of the Asia Society. As the Chairman, Mr. Kaye launched bold USIBC initiatives supporting civilian nuclear cooperation, clean energy, improved public health, environmental technology transfer and more robust trade - capturing the attention of policy-makers in both capitals and setting a new benchmark for organizations striving to promote deeper United States-India ties. Mr. Kaye served as a Director of Jarden Corp. since September 20, 2004 and served as Director of Rediff.Com India Limited from June 1999 to December 17, 2002. He served as a Director of Arch Capital Group Ltd. He served as a Member of International Advisory Board at Council on Foreign Relations, Inc. and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He has experience in a variety of industry sector groups including consumer, retail, industrial and technology. He spent 16 years working as a private equity investor. Mr. Kaye holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas.
