Biography
Dr. Connie Kim Yen Nguyen-Truong is a community-based participatory research methodologist. Being an Asian American, Vietnamese bilingual, and bicultural, she is committed to excellence in the approach to conducting research with community partners to reduce health disparities and to improve the health of Asian Americans. She has specific training and expertise in community-based participatory research, cross cultural translation, instrument development, survey research, and qualitative research. Dr. Nguyen-Truong's dissertation research was on a rigorous combined translation team and community-based participatory research approaches, and a five-stage instrument development, to measure cervical cancer screening factors among Vietnamese women.
