Biography
Postdoctoral Associate in Radiology, Radiology , Weill Cornell Medical College 2009 – 2012 Praneil Patel, M.D. is a radiologist specializing in Neuroradiology. He is Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Campus. Dr. Patel earned his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005, graduating magna cum laude. He was awarded his M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society. After an internship in the Department of Internal Medicine at North Shore University Healthsystems (University of Chicago) in Evanston, Illinois (2010-2011), Dr. Patel completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA (2011-2015). Dr. Patel completed a Fellowship in Neuroradiology at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Campus and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (2015-2016). Dr. Patel joined the full-time faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College as Assistant Professor of Radiology in July 2016. Dr. Patel’s clinical expertise is in Neuroradiology. He interprets a variety of imaging studies including radiographs, CT, CTA, and MRI examinations of the brain, spine, and head and neck. He performs a variety of image-guided neuro-interventional procedures, including lumbar punctures and myelograms. Dr. Patel is also actively involved in teaching radiology residents and neuroradiology fellows.
