Biography
David Elliott, Pharm.D., is Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Associate Chair of Clinical Pharmacy for the Charleston Division at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University Charleston Division. He practices, teaches, and conducts research in geriatrics. He is the pharmacist in the CAMC Geriatrics Clinic and is the Director of the West Virginia Geriatric Education Center. Dr. Elliott is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and the American Geriatrics Society. He is a member of the Amiercan Geriatrics Society Clinical Practice and Models of Care Committee and the Professional Education Executive Committee and is active in the West Virginia Geriatrics Society with previous service as a member of the Board of Directors and President. He is currently a member of the Education Committee. Dr. Elliott is one of two editors of the Ambulatory Care Self-Assessment Program published by the American College of Pharmacy for Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) recertification.

Methods to measure and improve the medication use process for geriatric patients in acute care and ambulatory care settings. · Effectiveness and pharmacoeconomics of pharmacist activities in ambulatory geriatric care settings. · Methods to utilize distance learning technologies to stimulate student learning in pharmacy students.
