Biography
James J. Knittel received his B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry from the State University of New York College at Brockport. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Medicinal Chemistry) from the University of Connecticut. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona, he became an assistant professor of Medicinal Chemistry at Rutgers University College of harmacy. In 1985 he moved to the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. In addition to his appointment at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Knittel also became a member of the Genome Research Institute there in 2004.
