Biography
Shabnam N. Sani received her Pharm.D. degree from School of Pharmacy, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Tabriz, Iran. She also received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics) from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Prior to coming to Western New England University, she was assistant professor of Pharmaceutics at the Hampton University School of Pharmacy. Dr. Sani has conducted research in the area of the application of microdialysis technique to characterize the disposition of anticancer agents in tumors and tissues of interest in order to identify factors associated with the failure in cancer chemotherapy. She possesses several areas of expertise related to the fundamental and technical aspects of microdialysis technique, pre-clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) data analysis, and different aspects of formulations of novel drug delivery systems (particularly nano-particulate drug delivery system). Dr. Sani has published her research in numerous peer reviewed scientific journals and presented her research findings at several local and national scientific meetings.
