Biography

Dr. Bischof is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV. She is the Director of the MSN Education Specialist and Nursing Administration tracks and Level Coordinator of the RN to BSN program. She received a diploma in nursing from OVGH School of Nursing in Wheeling, WV; a BSN from West Liberty State College, West Liberty, WV; a MS in Nursing from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; and a PhD in Nursing from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. She is currently certified in critical care nursing (Alumnus CCRN), nursing administration, and nursing education. Dr. Bischof holds RN licenses in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. She has held positions in several area hospitals in a variety of positions including: staff nurse, Head Nurse, Acting Director of Nursing, Nurse Educator, and Critical Care CNS. Her clinical background is in critical care, specifically cardiac care and telemetry.   She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Omicron Mu chapter, American Organization of Nurse Executives, National League for Nursing, American Nurses Association, and Association for Professional Development, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Research Interest

Her research interests include heart failure, mentorship in nursing, and self-care resources using the Modeling Role-Modeling Theory. Current research in progress includes disease management and health outcomes of patients with diabetes and use of over the counter interventions for viral respiratory illness.
