Research Interest
My PhD and BA work was in materials and physical chemistry. I studied vapor deposited glasses and lithium ion battery electrolytes. My work with vapor deposited glasses demonstrated that the mobility of molecules at the glass-vacuum surface is dependent on the identity of those molecules. Some are able to move rapidly at the surface, but others do not. My work on lithium ion battery electrolytes investigated potential solvents that are less flammable compared to current commercial battery solvents. In future work, I hope to study new battery technologies for large scale electrical grid storage applications and investigate the motion of super-cooled liquids.
