Biography
Professor Stephenson earned his B.S. in psychology from Santa Clara University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. He taught at St. Edward's University and California State University Monterey Bay before joining the faculty at Willamette in 2015. His teaching interests include clinical psychology, psychology of intimate relationships, statistics, and research methods. He also offers couple and individual therapy for relational distress, anxiety, and sexual dysfunction using cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based interventions.
Research Interest
association between sexual experiences and overall quality of life, the definition and measurement of sexual well-being, and the evaluation of treatments for sexual dysfunction, relational distress, and anxiety.
