Biography
Professor Chenault is a specialist in the history of Late Antiquity. He is especially interested in the study of historical memory - how and why societies and groups remember the past and use these memories to shape their self-understanding in the present. His dissertation work has also led Professor Chenault to two translation projects, one on the surviving fragments of Symmachus' Orations, the other a collaborative effort to prepare a sourcebook of noteworthy inscriptions from the fourth century. He received his B.A. from Classics and Political Science, University of Chicago, B.A. from Literae Humaniores, University of Oxford and Ph.D., from University of Michigan
