Jeradi Cohen

Biography

Jeradi Cohen completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan. Both her Master’s and Doctoral degrees were earned from the University of Virginia. Jeradi’s teaching experiences encompass public and private schools, ranging from kindergarten through high school, with the majority of these classroom years spent in the early elementary grades. Additionally, Jeradi has spent several years as a reading/literacy specialist in grades K – 10. All positions provided experiences of diversity in terms of geography and student populations. While P-12 teaching has included all subject areas, her primary areas of interest have always been in literacy (especially early childhood) and technology. Jeradi has taught at the higher education level in the most recent years of her professional journey. These undergraduate and graduate teaching opportunities occurred at the Radford University, University of Virginia and Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, OH. Most recently Jeradi completed three years at Marshall University just prior to joining the faculty as an associate professor in the Education Program at Wilmington College in the fall of 2017.

Research Interest

Current research interests include technology as a tool for writing in the early childhood years and examining the types of writing that teachers need to support them in their professional activities.
