Biography
Joseph Hall earned his B.A. in Organizational Leadership in 2004 as part of the Wilmington College Cincinnati Accelerated Leadership Program. Shortly after finishing his Bachelor’s, he decided to pursue my long-time aspiration of becoming an educator. As a result, he completed his M.A. in Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2007, approximately one year after accepting his first fulltime teaching position at Clinton-Massie High School where he taught Personal Finance, Business Management, and Accounting. Later that same year, he enrolled in the Department of Educational Psychology at Miami University where he completed his post-graduate studies in special education, subsequently earning his Ohio Professional K-12 Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist License in 2009. He earned his Ed.D.in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago in 2015, after successfully defending his dissertation entitled Practitioner Perceptions of Co-Teaching: An Urban Action Research Case Study. His passion for exceptional learners in particular resulted in his teaching in a variety of instructional settings at Miamisburg High School and D. Russel Lee Career-Technology Center (Butler Tech) including resource room English Language Arts 9, English Language Arts 10, Integrated Algebra I, Integrated Algebra II, Environmental Science, and Geometry. In addition, as Chair of the Special Education Department at D. Russel Lee, he was privileged to pilot a co-taught Environmental Science class during the 2011-2012 that lead to building-wide implementation of a co-teaching model the following school year. As part of this expanded continuum of special education services, I ended my tenure at D. Russel Lee partnering with general education teachers to co-teach Algebra II and Environmental Science, while also teaching one class each of Integrated Algebra and Environmental Science in a resource room. Shortly after earning his Ohio Professional Principal’s License (Grade 5-12) in 2013, accepted a position with Dayton Public Schools as Associate Director of the Office for Exceptional Children, he is currently member of the Council for Exceptional Children
