Biography
Dr. Klein, a Wilmington native, received his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and went on to earn his M.D. from New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Emory University, Atlanta, GA. He then worked on the faculty at Emory University before returning to Wilmington to practice medicine. Dr. Klein is board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
Research Interest
Signal transduction pathways involved in gastrointestinal smooth muscle cells. Thin filament regulation of smooth muscle activity and provide a regenerative medicine approach to the treatment of gastric motility disorders in an ever expanding aging population. Regenerative medicine approaches to manufacture replacement parts for the human gastrointestinal tract
