Biography

  Mr. Peter M. Wagner serves as a Founding Partner and General Partner at Wing Venture Partners. Mr. Wagner joined Accel Partners in 1996. He served as a Managing Partner of Accel Management for about 15 years and left Accel in 2011. He focused on information technology and energy sectors, investing in start-up ventures as well as growth-stage companies. He led Accel Management's investment activity in the energy sector where his interests included renewable energy, nuclear power, energy storage, smart grid, energy efficiency, demand management and energy analytics. Mr. Wagner led Accel Management's original initiatives in India culminating in the formation of Accel India in 2008. He has a deep interest in the region and worked closely with Accel India team on investments and strategy. Mr. Wagner has led investments in dozens of early stage companies, many of which have gone on to complete initial public offerings or acquisitions. He previously worked at Redback Networks, where he was an investor. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at netVmg, Inc. Mr. Wagner has worked in networking, technology and computing since 1980, as a Physicist, Line Manager and Venture Investor. His interests in information technology include digital media, virtualization, cloud computing, storage, networking and mobility. Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Managing Director at WG Holding Company. Mr. Wagner also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Wavetek Wandel & Goltermann, Inc., from September 30, 1998 to May 19, 2000. Prior to that, he served as a Line Manager at Graphics Properties Holdings, Inc., and was responsible for several generations of graphics workstation products, digital media and networking products. Mr. Wagner worked at McKinsey & Company, Inc., consulting to market leaders in technology, energy, aerospace and financial services. He advised major technology clients on their development, marketing and operations strategies at it. Mr. Wagner began his career as a Physicist working in nuclear fusion research and aerospace. He served as the President at the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. He served as Chairman and Member of Management Board at Meyer Burger Technology AG since October 2011. Mr. Wagner served as Chairman of Meyer Burger Technology AG and as its Non-Executive Director from 2006 to December 2, 2016. He serves as a Director of Nimble Storage. He has been a Director of Pepperdata, Inc. since April 16, 2015. He serves as a Director of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. He serves as an Independent Director of Blue Jeans Network, Inc., Qwilt and Complex Media. He serves as a Director of Tigera, Inc. and Azul Systems, Inc. He is a Director of Juvo Mobile Inc. since August 1, 2017. He serves as a Board Observer at Gong.io. He has been a Director of Moogsoft Inc. since July 31, 2014. He served as a Director at Trapeze Networks, Inc., and Transitive Corporation. Mr. Wagner served as a Director of ON Networks, Inc. and AccessLan Communications Inc. Mr. Wagner served as a Director of MU Dynamics Inc., Wichorus, Inc. and Entrisphere, Inc. He served as a Director of Topspin Communications, Inc., Kickfire, Inc., WG Holding Company and Consentry Networks, Inc. He served as a Director of Omneon, Inc., since May 1998. He served as a Director of Acterna Corp., since March 23, 2000 and iBEAM Broadcasting Corp., since 1998. He served as a Director of Northpoint Communications Group Inc., from August 1997 to March 30, 2001. Mr. Wagner served as a Director of netVmg, Inc., Airgo Networks, Inc., TiMetra Inc., Altor Networks, Inc., and Iospan Wireless. He served as a Director of Wandel & Goltermann Technologies, Inc., from September 30, 1998 to May 19, 2000. His thesis on venture investing in the energy sector is articulated in the Accel white paper "Entrepreneurial Energy" and "Entrepreneurial Energy 2.0". Mr. Wagner holds a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and an A.B. in Physics, summa cum laude, from Harvard College. He also studied Physics at University of Mainz, Germany
