Biography
Education: PhD Civil Engineering Worcester Polytechnic Institute 2015 MS Environmental Engineering Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogota, Colombia 2004 BS Civil Engineering Universidad de Cartagena, Cartagena, Colombia 1999. My research is on Environmental Health primarily focused on the study and develop of advanced oxidation technologies applicable to the industry of water remediation and water reuse to remove contaminants of emerging concern, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, hormones, pesticides, flame retardants, and microorganisms. I have more than 10 years of experience in the water industry combined with academics overseas. I define myself as an instructor who actively participates and promotes personal and professional growth; who establishes and supports group momentum and obtains the best of each of my students.　My teaching courses at WPI are related to fate, transport and modeling of contaminants in surface water, water treatment, environmental engineering, and water quality. I am a registered professional engineer in the State of Rhode Island and in Colombia (South America).
