Biography

Education: BS Electrical & Computer Engineering BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology) 1968 MENGR Electrical & Computer Engineering Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada 1973 PhD Electrical & Computer Engineering Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, 1977 I like teaching, advising projects and working closely with students. I share my experiences to inspire and motivate students to excel in whatever subject areas interest them. I try to listen to students and guide them to develop problem solving skills. When students ask me for advice on what technical areas to pursue, I advise them to follow what they are passionate about. My early career started with teaching and after graduate studies advising student projects at undergraduate and graduate-level electrical engineering. Before joining WPI, I spent over 33 years at Raytheon, one of the top defense electronics company and retiring as Raytheon Engineering Fellow. I played various roles at Raytheon including designing state-of-the-art RF and Microwave integrated circuits both for military and commercial wireless applications; leading multidisciplinary product teams; managing a department; leading research and development teams working on advanced technologies; mentoring beginning and senior engineers etc. I was complimented on many instances for helping low-performing engineers to become a motivated and high-performing ones. My research and project advising interests at WPI would be to help develop more industry collaboration through necessary expansion of RF and Microwave curriculum to attract more company sponsorships of both undergraduate and graduate projects.
