Biography
BS Mechanical Engineering China Agricultural University 2006 MS Mechanical Engineering University of Victoria (BC, Canada) 2009 PhD Computer Engineering University of California at Santa Cruz 2014 Postdoc Duke University 2016 My research focuses on the motion control of human-compatible and human-like robots. My research thus far has primarily involved medical robots, including exoskeletons, surgical robots, and tele-nursing robots, and has spread to the design and optimization of robotic systems, teleoperation, haptics, and physical human-robot interaction. I am highly interested in integrating the synergy of human and robotic systems. Currently I am working on improving the manipulation motor skills of tele-nursing/assisting/manufacturing robots, the compatibility of wearable rehabilitation robots, as well as the usability and availability of such robots via shared autonomy, teleoperation and haptics.
