Jed Sekoff

Biography

B.A. Social Theory/Psychoanalysis, Hampshire College, 1978 Ph.D. Psychology, The Wright Institute, 1982 Dr. Sekoff is a graduate of the Baltimore-Washington/ Florida Psychoanalytic Institute. For a decade, he was Director of Psychological Medicine for the Department of Family and Community Medicine of the University of Miami Medical School. There his work included training medical residents and students, chairing the admissions committee, consult-liaison services, leading Balint seminars, and conducting pregnancy and parenting groups.

Research Interest

Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.He is extensively involved in supervision and teaching. His writing, speaking and teaching interests have included: psychosomatics and medical psychology; film, photography, and cultural studies; the intersection of psychoanalysis and social theory; sexuality; as well as object- and subject-relations theories.
