Biography
In his role as the Corporation’s Chief Ethics and Insurance Officer, Me Louis-Martin Richer counsels the organization on ethics and compliance, contractual matters, insurance and professional liability. Prior to holding this position, he was the Corporation’s Chief Risk and Ethics Officer (2013-2016), Chief Risk Officer (2011-2013), Chief Legal Officer (2006-2011) and Corporate Secretary (2006-2008). Prior to occupying such roles, he practiced as a litigator in several recognized Montreal law firms. His main areas of practice included construction, insurance and class action litigation. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 1999 after completing bachelors in both Law (1998) and Political Science (1994) at the Université de Montréal. Me Richer was also co-lecturer at the Engineering Faculty of McGill University, where he taught Law for Architects and Engineers from 2005 to 2011, and professor at the Quebec Bar School from 2010 to 2013. Since 2015, he has been the co-chair and panel expert of the Canadian Centre of Excellence for Anti-Corruption at Ottawa University.
