Biography

Mr. Benjamin G. S. Fowke, III, also known as Ben, has been the Chief Executive Officer of Xcel Energy Inc. since August 24, 2011 and as President since August 2009. Mr. Fowke serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Northern States Power Company-Wisco and Southwestern Public Service Company. Mr. Fowke serves as the Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and Treasurer of Public Service Co. He serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Northern States Power Company. He served as an Executive Vice President of Northern States Power Co. (WI). He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Northern States Power Company since October 2003 and Treasurer since November 2002 and served as its Vice President from November 2002. He served as the Chief Operating Officer at Xcel Energy Inc. since August 2009. Mr. Fowk served as the Chief Financial Officer of Southwestern Public Service Co., a subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc. since October 2003 and as its Treasurer since November 2002. He served as Executive Vice President of Southwestern Public Service Co. Mr. Fowke served as a Vice President of Xcel Energy Inc. from November 2002 to December 2008 and served as Chief Financial Officer since October 2003 to August 2009. He served as an Executive Vice President, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Northern States Power (MN). until August 2009. He served as Vice President of Southwestern Public Service Co. since November 2002. He served as Vice President of Retail Services and Energy Markets at New Century Energies Inc., from January 1999 to July 2000. He served as Vice President-Finance/ Accounting at e prime, Inc., a subsidiary of Xcel Energy from May 1997 to December 1998. He joined NCE from FP&L Group, where he held various finance positions. He served as a Manager of Financial Reporting with DWG Corp., supervisor of Internal Audits with the Dart Group and an auditor with KPMG. Mr. Fowke serves as Chairman of the Board of Southwestern Public Service Co and Public Service Company of Colorado. He serves as the Chairman of Northern States Power company (MN). He has been the Chairman at Xcel Energy Inc. since August 24, 2011. He serves as Director of Energy Insurance Mutual Limited Company. He has been a Director of Xcel Energy Inc. since December 1, 2009. He serves as a Director of Milestone Growth Fund, Inc., American Gas Association, Public Service Company of Colorado and Southwestern Public Service Co. He has been a Director of Electric Power Research Institute, Inc since 2011. Mr. Fowke holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in finance/accounting from Towson University. He obtained his CPA from AICPA in 1982
