Bradley S. Jacobs

Biography

Mr. Bradley S. Jacobs has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of XPO Logistics, Inc., since September 2, 2011. Mr. Jacobs has been President of the Supervisory Board at XPO Logistics Europe SA since June 8, 2015. He serves as Managing Member and Managing Director of Jacobs Private Equity LLC. He has led two public companies: United Rentals, Inc., which he co-founded in 1997 and United Waste Systems, Inc., founded in 1989. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of United Rentals (North America), Inc. He was Consultant of United Rentals (North America), Inc. since December 15, 2003. He served as Chief Executive Officer at United Rentals Inc. from its formation September 1997 to December 20, 2003. As chief executive officer from 1997 through 2003, Mr. Jacobs oversaw all operations and led the team that integrated more than 250 acquisitions, including US Rentals. He founded United Waste Systems, Inc. and served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from its inception in July 1989 to August 1997. During his eight years as Chairman and Chief executive officer, he built United Waste Systems into the fifth largest solid waste management business in North America. Mr. Jacobs has been a Director of XPO Logistics, Inc. since September 2, 2011. He founded Hamilton Resources (UK) Ltd. From 1984 to July 1989, Mr. Jacobs served as Chairman and Chief Operating Officer at Hamilton Resources Ltd. During that time, he grew United Waste Systems to annual revenues of approximately $1 billion through the execution of contracts with oil companies and oil-producing countries. In 1979, Mr. Jacobs co-founded Amerex Oil Associates, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer till 1983.
