Jen-hwa Chu

Biography

Jen-hwa Chu is an Assistant Professor in the section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Chu's research interests include statistical genomics, systems biology and bioinformatics. Specifically, Dr. Chu has been working on developing novel network-based methodologies to identify disease-relevant regulatory networks, and integrating multiple high-dimensional -omics data types/sources to solve biological problems. Dr. Chu received his Ph.D. in Statistics from Duke University under the supervision of Drs. Merlise Clyde and Feng Liang. After graduate school he worked as a postdoc at Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where his research focused on method development and application of network-based statistical methods on various pulmonary diseases. This work led to his promotion to instructor and a K99/R00 award at National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). In 2015 Dr. Chu moved to his current position at Yale where he continues his work on method development and collaborates with other investigators at PCCSM.
