Biography
Dr. Achkar is a physician scientist and currently an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Achkar received her Medical Diploma and Doctoral Degree from the Free University of Berlin, Germany, and her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Research Methods from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her Medical Residency and Infectious Disease Fellowship at the New York University School of Medicine, NY, NY, is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and joined Einstein in 2006.
Research Interest
Her more recently expanded work, in collaboration with Drs. Arturo Casadevall and John Chan, investigates also the role of antibodies in the protection against TB, and resulted in several invitations for peer-reviewed book chapters and reviews.
