INSPIRATIONS Throughout my journey, I've completed trainings ranging from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to Yin to Jivamukti with generous teachers: David Swenson, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Cyndi Lee, Baron Baptiste, Joseph Le Page, Shiva Rea, Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Sarah Powers. I have master’s degrees in women’s studies and social work, design the eco-friendly clothing line TranquiliT, and enjoy writing books. When not sipping tea, you’ll find me practicing yoga on my leopard-print mat or leading retreats globally. With a passion for spreading tranquility, I co-founded Tranquil Space Foundation's Pigs & Pugs Project and am a cheerleader for animal rights. WHY I PRACTICE My yoga practice began in a snowcapped Colorado mountain town in 1996 and traveled with me to Washington, DC where I started Tranquil Space in 1999. Yoga has been an integral part of my life for over two decades and provides a space for deep listening and slowing down. WHY I TEACH Eager to spread the yoga gospel, I began teaching out of my living room in 1999. My hope was to create a sacred space for fellow Washingtonians to practice and connect both on and off the mat. Sharing the practice of yoga and mindfulness with others while also creating community is a true honor.
