Biography

INSPIRATIONS The example of tolerance and patience of my Mother, the noble warrior spirit of my Uncle, the laughter of my nephews, the mystic beauty of lotuses, surfing at sunset, the music of Gauravani and Karnamrita,  the poetry of Rumi and Tagore, the cool radiance of the full moon, all my teachers and students WHY I PRACTICE When I come on to my mat, I feel that I have come home. Wherever in the world I am, there is no place like hOMe, and my yoga practice is that. WHY I TEACH One of my favorite compliments of all time, came from a student in NYC: "Kirtan was born to teach yoga."  I teach to inspire, I teach to heal, I teach to honor my teachers.
