Christopher B. Begley

Biography

 Mr. Christopher B. Begley, also known as Chris, served as the Chief Executive Officer of Hospira Inc., from April 8, 2004 to March 28, 2011. Mr. Begley served as the Chief Executive Officer of Hospira Australia Pty Ltd. He served as the Principal Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer of Hospira Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of Hospital Products of Abbott Laboratories from 2000 to April 2004, Corporate Officer since 1993 and also served as its President, where he was responsible for all divisional operations as well as establishing the future strategic direction for the business. Mr. Begley joined Abbott Laboratories in 1986 and served various management positions in its hospital products business and served as Divisional Vice President and General Manager of hospital products business sector since 1990. He served as Senior Vice President of Chemical and Agricultural Products at Abbott from 1999 to 2000, Vice President of Abbott Health Systems from 1998 to 1999 and Vice President of MediSense Inc. since 1998. He served as Vice president of Marketing at the Mueller Division of American Hospital Supply Corp. He has been the Chairman of DeVry Education Group Inc. since November 21, 2014. He serves as the Chairman of the Board at Hillshire Brands Company. He served as the Chairman of Hospira Inc., from May 15, 2007 to March 28, 2011. He served as the Executive Chairman of Hospira Inc., since March 29, 2011. Mr. Begley has been an Independent Director of Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. since July 16, 2012; Sara Lee Corp. since October 2006 and DeVry Education Group Inc. since November 2011. He serves as a Director of The Executives' Club of Chicago. He has been Independent Director of The Hillshire Brands Company since October 2006. He has been Director of Hanger, Inc. since November 2013. He has been a Director of Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago since 1998. He serves as a Director of Healthcare Leadership Council, AdvaMed and Generic Pharmaceutical Association (GPhA). He served as Director of Hospira Inc since April 30, 2004. He served as a Director of MediSense, Inc. He is active in the Cook County Boy Scouts of America. He is a Member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club Foundation. Mr. Begley holds a Bachelor's Degree from Western Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University
