Richard A. Packer

Biography

Mr. Richard A. Packer has been Primary Executive Officer at Asahi Kasei Corporation since April 02, 2016. Mr. Packer served as the Chief Executive Officer of ZOLL Medical Corporation from November 1999 to April 1, 2016 and also served as its President from 1996 to June 2008 and Chief Operating Officer from 1996 to November 1999. He joined ZOLL Medical Corp in 1992. From 1992 to 1996, he served as ZOLL Medical Corp's Vice President of Operations. Prior to 1992, he served as Vice President of various functions at Whistler Corporation. Before joining Whistler in 1987, he served as a Manager with the consulting firm of PRTM/KPMG, specializing in operations of high technology companies. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Interim Vice President/Head of North American Sales at ZOLL Medical Corporation from 1995 to 1996. He has been the Non-Executive Chairman of ZOLL Medical Corporation since April 1, 2016 and also has been its Director since 1996. He has been a Director of Teleflex Incorporated since May 5, 2017. He served as an Executive Chairman of ZOLL Medical Corporation from November 1999 to November 2010. He served as the Chairperson of MassMEDIC, the industry council for Medical Devices in Massachusetts. He has been an Independent Director of Bruker Corporation since May 16, 2007. Mr. Packer holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, as well as B.S. and M. Eng. degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
