Biography

 Dr. Michael N. Liang, also Known as Mike, Ph.D., is a Partner and Investment Partner at Baird Venture Partners. Dr. Liang concentrates on healthcare investments, focusing across investments in medical devices, life science tools, diagnostics and healthcare services and healthcare information technology. Mr. Liang joined Baird Venture Partners in February 2006 and served as Vice President and Principal. He is a Catalyst for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation Accelerator Program. Mr. Liang consulted for two venture-backed medical devices companies in the Boston area. He was a Venture Investor at Advent Venture Partners from 2002 to 2005, where he evaluated, completed and managed investments in the biopharmaceutical, medical technology and diagnostics sectors. Mr. Liang served as Director of Research and Development at Cortek, Inc., where he was responsible for the development of three spinal orthopedic products. He serves as the Chairman of Insightra Medical, Inc. He has been the Chairman of GenomeDx Biosciences, Inc., since March 22, 2017. Mr. Liang serves on the Board of IllinoisVENTURES, LLC. He serves as a Director of Zurex Pharma, Inc., Amphora Medical, Inc., Palyon Medical Corporation and BioForward. Mr. Liang has been a Director of GenomeDx Biosciences, Inc. since January 9, 2012. He serves on the Board of Apervita. Mr. Liang is a Board Observer of Centerre Healthcare Corporation, CoAxia, Inc., Celleration, Inc., and Caden Biosciences, Inc. Mr. Liang serves as a Director and Member of Advisory Board at the Medical College of Wisconsin Research Foundation's Division and Fund of Marketing and Licensing. He has been a Director of Integrated Diagnostics Inc. since April 29, 2014. Mr. Liang serves as a Director of Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association. He is a Member of the Advisory Board for the Northwestern University's Innovation and New Ventures Office, the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) Accelerator program, Chicago MATTER and the governance board for the Chicago Biocenter initiative. Mr. Liang served as the Chairman of the Board of Veniti, Inc. and serves as its Director. He served as a Director and Member of Advisory Board at PathCentral, Inc. Mr. Liang served as Board Observer at TomoTherapy, Inc. He served as Member of the Rush University Medical Center's Associates Board. Dr. Liang served as a Board Member at Interlace Medical, Inc. before its acquisition in 2011. He conducted a Postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. Mr. Liang holds a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Stanford University in 1997 and a B.S. in Bioorganic Chemistry from the University of California Berkeley in 1992.
