Pankaj Mehra

Biography

Dr. Pankaj Mehra has been the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Fusion-io, Inc. since April 2013. Dr. Mehra oversees the research of core technology across the Fusion-io product portfolio and develop strategies for collaborating with Fusion-io partners and industry standards associations. Dr. Mehra serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President at Inlogy, Inc. Prior to Inlogy, Dr. Mehra served as an Hewlett Packard Distinguished Technologist and the Chief Scientist of HP Labs Russia. An industry veteran, he directed the development of persistent memory at Compaq. He was recently Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Whodini, Inc., a big data engagement analytics company he co-founded in 2010. He previously chaired the InfiniBand Trade Association's Management Working Group and contributed to the 1.0 specification. He coordinates industry participation in Stanford University-led Collaborative Data Management Initiative, and serves on the program committee of International Semantic Web Conference and on the editorial board of IEEE Internet Computing magazine. He has held prior academic and research positions at NASA, IIT Delhi, IBM, and University of California. He also pioneered the design of quantitative self-tuning software for large-scale systems and co-authored 20 patents and three books on storage, load balancing, and machine learning. Dr. Mehra received his B Tech from IIT Delhi, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
