Barbara Blake Gonzalez

Biography

A native of the United States, she holds a Bachelors of Science in International Business from High Point University, a Masters in International Studies from the University of Leeds, Leeds, England, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. Since 1995, she has taught Economics and is currently the Chief Administrative Officer at the Center of Economic Analysis and Policy, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. Her research interests include Resource Allocation Models, Global Economic Systems, the Economics of Social Issues, and Global Strategic Planning. Her work has been published in the United States and England and has presented her research at Harvard University and The George Washington University. She is a Summer Scholar and recipient of a US National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks Grant. She is a Quality Matters (QM) Certified Master Peer Reviewer and an experienced QM Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Global Comparative Economics and International Studies for a network of over 750 universities from 47 different US states and 6 countries. She is a Certified Microsoft Faculty Fellow and a Faculty Contributor in Economics to Macmillan Education Corporation. In 1997, she established her consulting business Blake Gonzalez Associates and began working closely with clients in Texas, North Carolina and Virginia. As an SME, she assists program and project managers in the development and implementation of research. She also provides subject matter training to executive personnel, presents educational briefs to specialized audiences as well as provides independent evaluation and assessment of projects, program reviews and corporate evaluations. Some of her clients have included NATO- Concept Development, Procter & Gamble, and Sara Lee, Inc./Hanes Mexico.
