Biography

 Mr. Chirico is the co-project chief of the USGS Special Studies Group within the USGS Earth Surface Processes Team.  The Special Studies project conducts research on the geology, geomorphology, and the terrain of international areas of interest to provide geotechnical and geospatial support to US Government agencies that require such expertise.  Mr. Chirico researches the development, the quantitative analysis, and the applications of digital elevation models and remotely sensed imagery for the study and mapping of terrain, geomorphology, and geology. This work encompasses both DEM development methods and the applications of DEMs to understanding earth surface processes
