Biography

Sarah grew up on a ranch in Harding County, South Dakota where she learned that a strong work ethic & positive attitude are important qualities to be successful. After spending 3 summers working for the Forest Service, she found her love for the outdoors & decided a career with the possibility of being outside was for her. She received an Associate's Degree from Western Dakota Technical Institute in Environmental Engineering Technology. Upon graduation in 2013, she joined the USGS full time in the Cheyenne office of the WY-MT Water Science Center. While in the Cheyenne office, she helped with streamgaging, water quality sampling in both SW & GW, and other projects throughout Wyoming & Montana. In March 2017, she transferred to the Rapid City office of the Dakota Water Science Center as a streamgager & is happy to be back in her home state measuring stream-flow!
