Biography

Jay B. Knaebel has served as our Vice President, Reservoir Engineering since January 2015. Previously, Mr. Knaebel served as Reservoir Engineering Manager (or similar capacities) since July 2012 and has over 27 years of industry experience. For a 4 ½ year period prior to joining Oasis, Mr. Knaebel was a capital partner and Vice President, Engineering and Business Development, of Compass Resources I & II, which were private equity funded oil and gas exploration companies with assets in Wyoming and Texas shale plays. The remainder of Mr. Knaebel’s career was spent in a variety of positions with Meridian Oil/Burlington Resources, and one year with ConocoPhillips. Mr. Knaebel was an influential technical contributor to ConocoPhillips’ Eagle Ford play entry, Burlington’s efforts in Canada Arctic exploration, Western Canada tight gas and CBM, China Sichuan Province tight gas, and San Juan Basin, NM, CBM. While with Burlington, Mr. Knaebel also held positions in Corporate Planning, Corporate Engineering and San Juan Basin Division Planning where he managed annual budget cycles, reserve review cycles, and long range planning cycles. Mr. Knaebel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is a member of SPE.
