Biography

Dr. Kesic has 14 years of teaching and academic research experience. He received his B.S. and Masters from Youngstown State University with a concentration in Molecular Genetics and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University with a concentration in Clinical Immunology and Molecular Virology. Dr. Kesic did his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill in collaboration with the USEPA. He gained clinical research experience while working with the UNC Burn Center and The Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma, and lung Biology (CEMALB). His work has been highlighted at numerous international conferences and he was awarded an NIH research grant in 2012. Prior to joining the DPT faculty at Methodist, he was an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Methodist and also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Physician Assistant Program. My current research is studying the protease/antiprotease balance in the airway of asthma patients and how this influences susceptibility to a viral infection along with testing novel therapeutic interventions to limit inflammation and oxidative stress in asthmatic patients.  Dr. Kesic presented his research "Consequences of Introducing a New Pathogen into a Naïve Population" at the 2015 B. F. Stone Lyceum at Methodist University.
